Japan 2025 - Part 1

Travel Day

Saturday - October 3rd 2025

Another trip to Japan was upon us. In 2018 we had already been to Japan and we fell in love with that country. So it was only a matter of time until we wanted to return. The time had finally come in 2025 and we planned to travel to Japan for two week again. Saturday early morning we hit the road and drove to Vienna International Airport. along the way we stopped at McDonalds for a quick breakfast and a couple of hours later we arrived in Vienna. Once we dropped off our luggage, we spent some time at the Vienna Lounge enjoying a late breakfast and some drinks while waiting for departure. Finally it was time for take off and our Austrian Airlines flight left on time. During our twelve hours flight we got a couple of drinks and meals, watched movies and Sunday morning we landed at Tokyo Narita Airport.

Japan 2025 - Part 16

Flying Home

Sunday - October 19th 2025

Today was time to say goodbye to Japan. We got up early and after we checked out we headed to Tokyo Station right across our hotel. From there we took the Narita Express to Tokyo Narita Airport, where we arrived about an hour later. After we returned our Ninja Wi-Fi we dropped off our luggage and once we passed the security checkpoint, we spent some time at the NOA Airport Lounge. Unfortunately the lounge was very disappointing, but at least we got some chips and drinks while waiting for departure. Before take off we spent our remaining Yen and then it was time for boarding. The flight back to Austria took about 15 hours and Sunday evening we arrived in Vienna with a huge surprise. As soon we got off the plane, we were told by the ground staff that the luggage of all passengers was left behind due to an unforseen change in the flight route. Therefore the plane needed more fuel and to reach our destination the luggage had to stay in Tokyo, because otherwise the plane would have been too heavy. So we left the aiport empty handed and drove back home. On the way home we stopped at Burger King for a late dinner and around midnight we made it to Salzburg. Our luggage arrived on Wednesday.

Toblach 2025 - Part 1

Wedding

Friday - September 12th to Sunday - September 14th 2025

One of Claudia's best friends was about to get married in Italy. Friday after work we were on our way and stopped for a late lunch in Villach before crossing to border to Italy. After driving for a couple of hours we arrived at the wedding location. Upon arrival we got the keys to our room and then enjoyed some drinks with the other guests. The wedding took place on Saturday and so we stayed until Sunday morning. The wedding location was an old winery in the middle of beautiful vineyards. We had a lovely time at the wedding and Sunday after breakfast we hit the road towards Toblach in South Tyrol.
